The lense through which we see our dogs is influenced by societal norms and deeply woven into historical instances of violence and dominance. What we are left with is strict standards of obedience and leadership, with little understanding of how to build secure relationships with our dogs. How can we begin to unpack and dismantle all of this in order to make room for love and safety?
