Don’t try to do this alone.

Owning a dog is hard. Taking home a dog you know nothing about from a shelter or rescue and bringing them into your home? Even harder! You might be feeling:

  • Unsure if this was the right decision.

  • Ashamed of the struggles you are facing.

  • Overwhelmed by your dog’s behavior.

  • Confused by contradictory advice on the internet or from those you know.

  • Afraid you might mess up.

  • Worried you aren’t “good enough” for your dog.

  • Frustrated at your inability to connect with your dog.

  • Anxious about what others might think.

  • Stressed about the strain your new dog has placed on work, home life, and your relationships.

The truth is that there is no one-size fits all answer to your problems. We can’t snap our fingers to make it all better. But, we can provide guidance, empathy, and safety as you navigate all the challenges of having a new dog- for free and without leaving the comfort of your own home.

Meet Your Facilitator

My name is Grey Suiter and I am a Shelter Professional turned Dog Behavior Consultant and Trainer. I’ve always loved dogs, but I discovered my passion for working with people through my work at PAWS (Progressive Animal Welfare Society) in Washington as an Animal Adoptions Advisor. I held conversations with countless families and individuals facing difficult decisions regarding their pets and became passionate about equipping dog owners with the tools and resources to be successful. Now, I own and operate Canines & Caregivers, a business dedicated to educating the public and assisting in the resolution of complex behavioral problems in dogs. Now more than ever, we must lean on one another and show up with empathy and curiosity for others unique experiences. I am passionate about supporting people and animals through accessible resources that explore the nuances and challenges of owning a dog. I believe in facilitating conversations where people can feel supported without fear of judgement or retaliation, and exploring uncomfortable and nuanced truths about dog ownership- challenging the understanding we have of dogs, ourselves, and our relationship to one another.
